This adventure requires participants to be in reasonably good physical condition, though no previous canoeing experience is necessary. The trip involves approximately 1-2 miles of paddling each day plus a short hike over uneven terrain to reach the campsite. Participants should be prepared for variable weather conditions and must bring their own sleeping bag, backpack (minimum 45L), and appropriate clothing layers. A valid photo ID is required. The minimum age for this adventure is 12 years, and minors must be accompanied by an adult. A detailed packing list will be provided upon booking.
Participants with specific dietary requirements should notify staff when booking to ensure proper accommodations. The adventure operates with a "Leave No Trace" policy, requiring all participants to respect wildlife and natural surroundings. Weather conditions may occasionally necessitate itinerary adjustments for safety reasons. Permits are required for camping in this area, which the guides will secure in advance. For overnight camping in the Catskills, regulations prohibit camping within 150 feet of water sources, and all participants must adhere to proper food storage protocols due to the presence of black bears in the region.
