Flights take place in the beautiful countryside surrounding Richmond, Virginia. Multiple launch sites are used depending on wind conditions to ensure the best possible flight path and scenic experience.

What Can You See?

On clear days, enjoy views stretching for miles over Virginia’s rolling hills, forests, farmland, and rivers. Depending on the wind direction, you may catch glimpses of the James River, downtown Richmond, and surrounding rural landscapes bathed in the golden light of sunrise or sunset.

Meeting Times and Location

Guests meet approximately 30–60 minutes before sunrise or two hours before sunset, depending on flight timing. The exact meeting location will be confirmed prior to your flight date. If you have any accessibility needs or special requests, you’re encouraged to reach out ahead of time.

Flight Duration

Flight time is typically around 1 hour, though it may range from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on wind and landing conditions. The full experience, including setup and post-flight celebration, lasts approximately 2 to 3 hours.

What to Wear

Please wear closed-toe shoes, no sandals, flip-flops, or heels. Dress in comfortable, weather-appropriate layers for outdoor activity. Note that temperatures in the balloon are similar to those on the ground and may even feel warmer on cool mornings.
