This hike covers a 7-mile round trip with approximately 1,800 feet of elevation gain. While the trail follows a former access road and is well-maintained without technical rock scrambles, participants should be prepared for a sustained uphill climb. Good hiking boots, at least 2 liters of water, rain gear (regardless of forecast), and high-energy snacks are essential. The fire tower cabin is typically open on summer weekends when staffed by volunteers from the Catskill Center. Transportation is provided from convenient pickup locations in NYC, including the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Grand Central in Manhattan. All meals and snacks are included during your adventure.
