Climb into a flying machine that looks like a plane, has the same rudder and controls as a plane, but with one major difference – there’s no noisy engine to disturb the peace and quiet as you carve the air on the thermals and ridgelifts. Without the motorized soundtrack, you won’t believe the sensation of utter tranquillity. No other flying adventure allows you to experience the freedom of the air quite like a sailplane.
During your 40 minute flight, you can fly the plane as much as you want to or just sit back and enjoy the view. Finish the day on the ultimate natural high and take home your own complimentary logbook.
On this outstanding adventure, you’ll enjoy views of the California desert, Salton sea, Mount San Jacinto and the ocean beyond while experiencing the total freedom of a sailplane in flight. At the end of your flight, take home the roll of film with pictures from your journey as well as your own complimentary log book.
If you are taller than 6’ 4”, you may not be able to fit into the aircraft. Maximum weight is around 260lb
Itinerary
- Meet your FAA Certified Flight Instructor on arrival
- Spend time learning about the sailplane and the effects of control
- Carry out in-flight maneuvers as much as you like during your 40 minute flight
- Post flight checks carried out on landing
Throughout your experience, your pilot will guide you all the way. Take the controls and fly the glider yourself or just relax and enjoy the views.
Arrival & Flight Details
• Please arrive on time for your scheduled booking to meet your flight instructor and complete the pre-flight briefing
• Total experience lasts approximately 1.5 hours, including a 40-minute flight at 4,000 feet
What to Bring
• Comfortable clothing suitable for the weather
• Sunglasses and sunscreen recommended
• Camera or phone (optional – please secure properly)
• Water bottle for after the flight
Flight Experience
• You’ll be towed to 4,000 feet by a powered aircraft before being released to soar silently on thermal currents
• You may take the controls and fly the sailplane under supervision or simply relax and enjoy the views
• Views may include the California desert, Salton Sea, Mount San Jacinto, and the Pacific Ocean
Age, Height & Weight Requirements
• Maximum weight: 260 lbs
• Height limit: approximately 6’4” due to cockpit size
• Suitable for teens and adults – minors must be accompanied by a guardian and have written consent
Weather Policy
• Flights are weather-dependent; clear skies and calm winds are preferred
• In case of unsuitable flying conditions, your experience may be rescheduled
