Participation Guidelines

Who Can Take Part?

  • Age: Open to all ages.
  • Height: Participants must be between 5’1” and 6’5” tall.
  • Weight Limits:
    • Individual limit: 240 lbs per person
    • Flying with a friend? Combined weight cannot exceed 370 lbs
  • Physical Ability: Participants must be able to enter and exit the aircraft without assistance and take part in the flight lesson.

Additional Notes

  • Children: Kids are welcome as long as they meet the minimum height requirement of 5’1”.
  • Pets: Unfortunately, pets are not allowed during the experience.
  • Accessibility: The aircraft is not wheelchair accessible.

Experience Overview

What Happens on the Day?

  • Total Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours, including ground instruction and flight time.
  • Flight Lesson Includes: Pre-flight briefing, hands-on flight experience, and post-flight debriefing.
  • Who’s Onboard: Only participants and the FAA-certified instructor will be in the plane.
  • Spectators: Friends and family are welcome to watch from the designated viewing area.
  • Photos/Videos: You’re welcome to bring a camera and capture your experience.

  • Weather: This experience depends on safe flying conditions. If the weather isn’t suitable, your pilot will cancel and reschedule. Safety is always the top priority.
  • Arrival Time: Please arrive at your scheduled time.
  • Location/Parking: The experience takes place at South Albany Airport, Selkirk, NY. Parking is available on-site.
  • What to Wear: Dress for the weather in comfortable clothes. Closed-toe shoes are required, and sunglasses are recommended.
  • What to Bring: Bring your photo ID, a camera, and sunglasses.
  • Gratuity: Tips for your pilot are not included in the cost of the experience.
  • Restrooms: Facilities are available at the check-in location.
