Your adventure begins with a pre-flight briefing, where your instructor will introduce you to the aircraft’s controls, basic flight principles, and safety procedures. Then, step into the cockpit, taxi down the runway, and take off for an unforgettable aerial experience. Throughout the flight, you’ll have the opportunity to take the controls and maneuver the aircraft while your instructor provides real-time guidance.

Participation Guidelines

Who Can Take Part?

Age: Open to all ages.
Height: Participants must be between 5’1” and 6’5” tall.
Weight Limits:
- Individual limit: 250 lbs per person
- Flying with a friend? Combined weight cannot exceed 400 lbs
Physical Ability: Participants must be able to enter and exit the aircraft without assistance and take part in the flight lesson.

Additional Notes

Children: Kids are welcome as long as they meet the minimum height requirement of 5’1”.
Pets: Unfortunately, pets are not allowed during the experience.
Accessibility: The aircraft is not wheelchair accessible.

Experience Overview

What Happens on the Day?

Total Duration: Approximately 1 hour, including both ground instruction and flight time.
Flight Lesson Includes: 30 minutes of ground instruction followed by a 30-minute flight, timed from engine start to engine stop.
Who’s Onboard: Only participants and the FAA-certified pilot will be in the plane.
Spectators: Friends and family are welcome to watch from the designated viewing area.
Photos/Videos: You’re welcome to bring a camera and take photos of your experience.

Important Info to Know

Weather: This experience depends on safe flying conditions. If the weather isn’t suitable, your pilot will cancel and reschedule. Safety is always the top priority.
Arrival Time: Please arrive at your scheduled time.
Location/Parking: Parking is available at Thunderbird Aviation, located at Flying Cloud Airport, where the experience takes place.
What to Wear: Dress for the weather in comfortable clothes. Closed-toe shoes are required, and sunglasses are recommended.
What to Bring: Bring your photo ID, a camera, and sunglasses.
Gratuity: Tips for your pilot are not included in the cost of the experience.
Restrooms: Facilities are available at the check-in location.
