Overview

Join professional architectural photographer E. David Luria on our most popular session—the Monuments & Memorials Travel Photography Safari. Whether you're new to photography or already shooting in manual mode, this safari offers a comprehensive and practical introduction to capturing Washington D.C.’s most striking landmarks through your lens.

The experience begins with a 50-minute orientation covering camera settings, exposure, white balance, ISO, F-stops, shutter speeds, and composition. From there, you’ll step directly into the field—no classroom, just real-world practice. You'll explore and photograph Lafayette Park, the White House, and the beautiful interior of the Renwick Gallery, learning how to shoot museum scenes without flash or tripod.

Next, you’ll travel to the Lincoln Memorial, the Reflecting Pool, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Korean War Memorial—with guidance on timing, angles, lighting, and storytelling techniques. Along the way, you’ll gain expert tips on transforming everyday snapshots into professional-grade travel photos.

Ideal for travelers, locals, and anyone eager to master their camera settings while exploring the most scenic and historical corners of the nation’s capital.
