Launching from picturesque Griffin Bay, you’ll paddle past scenic shorelines, catch sight of marine life, and enjoy sweeping views of Mt. Baker, the Olympic Mountains, and the charming contours of Dinner Island. With both morning and afternoon options available, this tour fits easily into any island itinerary and leaves plenty of time for exploring Friday Harbor before or after your paddle.

Our small-group tours are led by friendly, knowledgeable guides who make it easy for first-timers to feel comfortable on the water. Whether you’re here for the sea life, the views, or just to share laughs with your travel crew, this tour hits all the right notes.

Meeting Guide
• Meet your guide at the Friday Harbor Ferry Terminal and get geared up for your kayaking adventure
• Shuttle ride provided to the launch point at Jackson’s Beach

Pre-Tour Orientation
• Receive a safety briefing and basic paddling instruction
• Learn about the route through Griffin Bay and the expected highlights, including Dinner Island and views of Mt. Baker

The Paddle
• Spend approximately 2.5 to 3 hours exploring the calm waters of Griffin Bay
• Paddle past scenic shorelines, watch for seals, eagles, and other marine life, and enjoy stories about the local ecosystems and surrounding islands from your knowledgeable guide
• Take in panoramic views of the Olympic Mountains, Mt. Baker, and the rugged San Juan coastline

Return
• Paddle back to the launch site at Jackson’s Beach
• Shuttle back to Friday Harbor Ferry Terminal
• Wrap up with a chance to ask any final questions, grab a few last photos, and reflect on your time on the water

• Tours operate rain or shine, but may be rescheduled in the event of severe weather

• Gratuities are not included; if you enjoyed your tour, tipping your guide (typically 15-20%) is greatly appreciated
