Tucked away in the stunning Sierra Nevada landscape, the Kings River offers one of California’s most exciting and scenic rafting adventures. Flowing freely from the high country near Kings Canyon, this undammed river serves up powerful Class III rapids that are both exhilarating and beginner-friendly. 

Whether you're new to rafting or returning for another splash, this half-day excursion combines river thrills with the simple pleasure of a freshly grilled BBQ lunch. Its central location makes it an ideal getaway for those coming from Fresno, Bakersfield, or Southern California.


  • Duration: Approx. 4.5–5 hours including check-in, safety, rafting, and lunch
  • Age Limit: 6–7 years minimum (late season), higher ages may apply in early season
  • Difficulty: Class III – intermediate but suitable for beginners
  • Distance: Varies with water levels, typically 7–10 miles
  • Meals: Includes riverside BBQ lunch with vegetarian options
  • Location: Meets at Twin Pines Camp (not the main office – see directions below)
  • Gear: Helmets, life jackets, and paddle gear included

Arrival and Check-In
Arrive at Twin Pines Camp and meet your guides along the scenic Kings River. Parking and restrooms are available on-site.

Check-In and Orientation
After check-in, you'll gear up with safety equipment and receive a full safety talk and paddle instructions from your guide.

Gear Up and Warm-Up Runs
Board your raft and begin your adventure on mellow currents to practice paddling and get comfortable on the water.

The Adventure Course
Navigate a series of splashy Class III rapids as you journey downstream through lush canyons and pine-covered hills. Halfway through, enjoy a riverside BBQ burger lunch (vegetarian options available).

Wrap Up and Cool Down
Finish the final stretch of rafting before returning via shuttle to Twin Pines Camp. Dry off, grab your gear, and relax after a successful river run.

  • Twin Pines Camp, across from Kirch Flat Campground on the Kings River

  • Arrive 15–20 minutes early for parking and check-in
